I’ve been making small comments – less than a full article – for some time. A kind of diary, but about British and world events, and mostly politics. A little science and a little culture as well.

Grouped by spans of years. So far I have done the following:

Newsnotes from 1987 to 1999, but sadly with many months missing:

Newsnotes from 2000 to 2005, much more complete.

I will add more recent months over the next few days.

I began in the 1970s, as far as I remember, but most of those would need to be scanned from the originals. But some I recovered from my computer and posted on-line. There are gaps, unfortunately.

Now I am assembling those links, for someone who might find it useful for studying recent history. Hoping people might find it useful to see what someone at the time was thinking from a left-wing viewpoint.

One thing I forgot I had on line – my criticism of what the Serbs were doing in 1989 to the Albanians of Kosovo, at a time when Western powers ignored the matter. But when they did later take notice, that was worse in my view than the original. It’s the second item for the month, https://labouraffairsmagazine.com/very-old-issues-images/magazines-020-to-029/magazine-026-xx/newsnotes-026-november-1991/.
